31 October. 2011

Hello World Class Shooters :

Just quick update.

1. We shoot at Harry Jones on November 19

2. We shoot Match 10 and Match 11

3. Match 10 will be a normal IBS match. Match 11 will be a money shoot only, no IBS points of any kind, no IBS records, no plaques—not an IBS match. Just cash awards.

4. Long range marksman and shooter of the year points will be accrued only for Match 10.

5. For the 2011 Season VA 1000 six and ten match aggregate plaques, we will use Matches 1 through 10. While this will knock a bunch of us out of the VA aggregates, it is the fair thing to do for the shooters who actually were able to get 10 shots and 5 shots on paper at Match 9.

6. Anyone who cannot attend Match 10 who paid for it at Peacemaker will have his money refunded.

7. Shooters who were at Peacemaker have already paid for Match 10. Match 11 is the standard rate of $15 for LG and $15 for HG.

8. The payout for Match 11 will be: $100 each for LG and HG group and score ($400 in total payout). We will also pay $10 for relay winners.

Bulletin Board Note #1:

A brief note about an IBS Long Range Rule Change that was voted on and passed at the Annual Meeting on Saturday, January 15th, 2010.

For Heavy Gun, "Muzzle brakes are now allowed at Long Range IBS matches".

Please note that there are a couple of practical things we need to address related to this rule change:

" Generally, Heavy Guns are larger caliber, bigger bang rifles. Allowing muzzle brakes will increase the amount of noise at the firing line. All shooters are strongly encouraged to double up on hearing protection starting with the 2011 Season. Ear plugs + ear muff type hearing protection is strongly encouraged. We will make sure that fire line commands are loud enough to hear even with this double hearing protection.

" In the past we have required that muzzles must extend past the shooting bench. We must make sure that all shooters follow this rule, it is an even bigger issue with Heavy Gun muzzle brakes. Let me know if you have any questions.

Bulletin Board Note #2:

Australian Postal Match:

We have begun somewhat of a relationship with a great group of guys in Australia. They are trying their hand at 1000yd shooting IBS style. We are comparing results as sort of a "postal match" type of deal, which I think is pretty neat. Keep checking as we will be working on this as time allows.

Click here for the Australian results.
